It's quite possible you do have a relatively small carbon footprint, at least compared with most Americans.

But I think almost all of us (except perhaps specialists in the field) tend to underestimate our footprints. There are just so many things to consider -- not just our own transportation, but also the manufacture and transportation of every last thing we eat or use.

(Perhaps excluding those who get all their belongings and food from dumpsters. I guess that's one way to dramatically reduce your direct carbon footprint. But even hardcore "freetarians" tend to use, if not computers, at least, say, lightbulbs.)
